The idea came up in mid-2016 when we thought about what wedding detail to give to the guests, YES OF WEDDING. The intention was that all the attendees felt identified with Bloggie. Therefore, different personalities were designed, very fun 2D styles that both adults and children liked very much. Thanks to the great reception of Bloggie by our very dear guests, we decided to create a 3D for later, to make our ART TOY IN RESIN. So, we got down to work modeling in clay...
Creating an Art Toy
SKETCHING THE IDEA
From the beginning «Bloggie» is conceived as a three-dimensional character. It has enough charisma and personality to be part of the existing artistic and creative universe around the world of collecting «Art Toy». After seeing the potential that our character presents, the necessary processes were started to transfer a 2D model to one in 3D:
Sketch of the volume made of clay to take the measurements and make the plans for modeling in 3D Render.
Why is Bloggie the humanized version of a Computer with Glasses? Well, it's very easy because we are dedicated to graphic design, web design and illustration. And as expected, we both need glasses since we are short-sighted.
The process starts from the drawings made by hand by the artist, which define the different views of the character. This work is essential to dimension the volume of the piece and define the scale of the final model. Subsequently, each curve and detail is studied and modeled to achieve the greatest possible fidelity with the original concept. The result is our «Art Toy» Bloggie, prepared for production using 3D digital printing and, obviously, using other production techniques (injected, milling, cast…)

DEFINING THE BLOGGIES
Once the render of our character is done, we get a 3D resin printer to prepare our prototypes that will be used to create the final molds.

CLEANING, SANDING AND PUTTY
After printing the pieces in resin, we clean and cure them correctly to check for imperfections and fix them by sanding and putty.
